Update! Flags changed to Single Red at 12 p.m. High surf hazards remain. STAY CLOSE TO SHORE! Rip currents are dangerous today and will sweep even experience sw…immers out to sea. _______________________ DOUBLE RED FLAGS! ?? We’re flying Double Red Flags on 5/27/22 due to life-threatening rip currents and surf. After days of severe storms, we are seeing a lot of water moving back out to sea, which is creating unorganized, widespread rip currents that pose an extreme threat to all swimmers. Until further notice, it is illegal to swim/boogie board in the Gulf. Choosing to enter the water is punishable by $500 fine(s) and/or criminal charges. Please treat our lifeguards with respect. They will continue to evaluate conditions and make changes to the flags when it is safe to do so.
